Stock Portal FAQ

Quick answers to the most common questions about ordering stock lenses and supplies in the SpecCheck Stock Portal.

I don't see the Stock Portal. How do I get access?

Stock ordering is currently in beta with a select group of practices. When we move out of beta, any eye care practice will be able to sign up. If you'd like access, contact us at [email protected] and we'll let you know when it's available for your practice.

Do I need to work with a SpecCheck in-network lab to order stock lenses?

No. Once we're out of beta, any eye care practice can order stock lenses and supplies, whether or not you work with a SpecCheck in-network lab.

How can I have the application default to open the Stock Portal?

Want SpecCheck to open to the Stock Portal by default? Go to Settings, then Personalization, and set your Default Portal to Stock.

Can I order supplies?

Yes. On the Stock Inventory page, choose Other in the Class drop-down, then pick a Category. Click Add to Cart on the supply you need. Supplies go into the same shared cart as your lenses. See How to Order Stock Supplies.

Why is the product list empty or locked?

Section 2, Select Products to Order, only unlocks once all required parameters (Material, Coating, Vision Type, and Color) are filled in. It lists anything that's still missing. If every parameter is filled in and you still see no lenses, try removing the optional Manufacturer, Lens Type, or Diameter filters. See How to Order Stock Lenses.

Do I pay when I place an order?

No. Stock orders are billed on a statement that you pay from the Payments page, either manually or with autopay. See Stock Portal Billing and Monthly Statements.

If your cart total is under $30, a $15 small cart fee is added to your order at checkout.

Is shipping free?

Orders of $65 or more qualify for free ground shipping. A progress bar on the Stock Inventory page and in your cart shows how much more you need to add. See Checking Out and Order Cutoff Times.

How do I change my shipping address?

Contact us at [email protected]. Orders ship to the address on file for your stock account, and you'll see it on each order's details page.

Why can't I check out?

If your practice has an overdue statement, a red banner appears at the top of the portal and Proceed to Checkout is locked. You can keep adding items to your cart. Pay the overdue balance with Make Payment to unlock checkout. See Checking Out and Order Cutoff Times.

What's the cutoff for same-day processing?

1:00 p.m. Pacific Time (3:00 p.m. Central) on business days.

Can my whole team add to the same order?

Yes. Your cart is shared across everyone in your practice. See Your Shared Stock Cart.

Can I order semi-finished lenses?

Yes. On the Stock Inventory page, choose Semi-Finished Stock Lenses under Class. See How to Order Stock Lenses.

Can I order by OPC code?

Not yet, but it's on our roadmap.

Who fulfills stock lens orders?

Orders are fulfilled and shipped by Global Optics.

Why is a lens I need showing No Stock?

That power is temporarily out of stock. Stock levels update throughout the day, so check back later, or contact your lab about a surfaced lens. See Reading the Stock Lens Grid.

Something isn't working. What should I do?

Click Help at the bottom of the left-hand menu and choose Report Issue, or contact us at [email protected]. Let us know which browser you're using and what you were doing when the issue happened. You can also check the Status Page from the same Help menu to see if SpecCheck is having a known issue.
