Product Lists (Lab View)

Control which lenses, services, tints, frames, and redo types each ECP can order on SpecCheck.

Product Lists let your lab control exactly which lenses, services, tints, frames, and redo types an ECP can order on SpecCheck. Create a list once and assign it to as many accounts as you like, which is perfect for programs, buying groups, contract accounts, or premium catalogs.

Where to Find Product Lists

Click Catalogs in the left sidebar, then Product Lists. The Catalogs section also holds your Frame Catalog and Lens Catalog.

The Product Lists page shows all of your lab's lists. Use Search Product Lists to find one, or click Create Product List to add a new one. Once created, a Product List can be assigned to multiple accounts from each ECP's details page.

Create a Product List

Click Create Product List. Setup takes three steps for Rx lists, or two steps for Frame-Only lists.

Step 1: Enter Details

  • Product List Name (required): A name to identify the list, like "Kids Product List."

  • Description (required): Who or what the list is for, up to 250 characters.

  • Select Order Type (required): Rx or Frame-Only.

  • Select Rx Type (required for Rx lists): Standard, Insurance, Safety, Contract, Retail, or PersonalEYEZ. The Rx Types you see depend on what your lab supports.

If you choose Frame-Only, there's no Rx Type to select, and the setup has two steps: Enter Details and Select Products. Click Next.

Step 2: Select Lens, Services & Tints

  • Lens Options (required): Lenses are shown nested. Each lens style expands to show its materials, and each material expands to show its add-ons. Checking a style selects all of its materials and add-ons, so expand it and uncheck anything you don't want to include. Counters such as "7 of 10 Materials" show how much of each style you've selected.

  • Services & Tints: Check the services and tints to include.

Use the search bars, Select All toggles, and the expand/collapse button to move quickly. A summary at the bottom of each column shows how many styles, materials, add-ons, services, and tints are selected. Click Next.

Step 3: Select Frames & Redos

  • Frames: Check the frames from your Frame Catalog that ECPs on this list can order.

  • Redo Types: Choose Lab Redo, Office Redo, and/or Warranty Redo.

Click Save.

Please Note: Frames are a paid feature. If frames aren't enabled for your lab, frame selection is locked in this step, but you can still build Product Lists with lenses, services, tints, and redo types. To enable frames, please contact [email protected].

Used Frame Lists before? Frame Lists have been replaced by Product Lists. Your existing Frame Lists and Product Lists were moved into the new Product Lists automatically, so there's nothing to rebuild. Going forward, frames are added directly to a Product List in Step 3.

Edit or Delete a Product List

On the Catalogs → Product Lists page, each list appears as a card that shows its Order Type and Rx Type badges and when it was last updated.

  • Preview or edit a list: Click the list to preview it. To make changes, follow the same steps you used to create it.

  • Delete a list: Delete it right from its card.

Assign Product Lists to an ECP

Product Lists are assigned from the Overview tab of each ECP's details page. For a new ECP, add the ECP first (learn more), then assign Product Lists as described below.

Each ECP can have one Product List per Rx Type. When someone creates an order, SpecCheck applies the list that matches the Order Type and Rx Type they select, so lists never conflict.

Open the ECP and go to its Overview tab:

  • No lists assigned yet: You'll see a card that says "No product list assigned." Click Assign Product List.

  • One or more lists assigned: The Product List Configurations card shows each assigned list as a pill. Click Assign New Product List to add another.

In the Assign Product List window:

  1. Open the Product List dropdown and select a list. Only lists that aren't already assigned to this account are shown, each with its Order Type and Rx Type badges.

  2. Review the preview of the list's lenses, tints and services, and frames. You'll also see who last updated the list and when.

  3. Click Save. You'll see a confirmation that the product list was assigned.

If your lab hasn't created any Product Lists yet, the window shows a banner letting you know none were found and pointing you to Product Lists to create one. If every list is already assigned to the account, the window lets you know there are no more lists to add.

Unassign a Product List

  1. On the Product List Configurations card, click the pill for the list. A Product List window opens with a preview of the list.

  2. Click Unassign Product List. You'll see a confirmation that the product list was unassigned.

If no Product List is assigned, SpecCheck defaults to what is found in your lab's LMS, so the ECP can choose from everything available there.

FAQ

Q: Is Product Lists included for every lab?
Yes. Product Lists are available to all labs. Adding frames to a list requires frames to be enabled for your lab, which is a paid feature.

Q: Why can't I find a product when building a list?
Product Lists draw from your lab's active catalog. If a product is missing, it's missing from your LMS catalog configuration. Update your LMS and make sure the product mapping exists. You can check what's active in Catalogs → Lens Catalog → View Active Catalog.

Q: Why is frame selection locked?
Frames are a paid feature. If frames aren't enabled for your lab, the frames list is locked when you create or edit a Product List. Contact [email protected] to enable it.

Q: Can I edit or delete a list later?
Yes. Click a list on the Product Lists page to edit it, or use the trash icon to delete it.

Q: When do edits to a Product List take effect?
Right away, for every ECP the list is assigned to. If someone is creating an order while you make a change, they'll need to refresh the page to see the updated list.
