Add an ACH Payment Method to Lab Pay

A great alternative to writing a check each month.

Updated over a week ago

Adding an ACH payment method to SpecCheck Lab Pay is quick and easy, and it allows you to debit funds directly from the bank account of your choosing. There are two ways to set up ACH – via your online banking credentials or via a microdeposit system. If available, we suggest using your online banking credentials as it's fast, easy, and secure.

Set up ACH with Online Banking Credentials

1. Open Lab Pay and click Payment Options

Then, choose "Add Payment Method".

2. Choose "US Bank Account" on the new page that appears.

Enter your full name. Below your name, search for your bank. In the example below, we are using Bank of America. Most major banks and credit unions that offer online banking are available.

3. Enter your online banking credentials.

From here, a pop-up will appear where you can securely enter your online banking username and password.

4. Choose the account you'd like to use.

Once you have selected the appropriate account, click "Connect Account". You should then receive a pop-up that let's you know you have successfully connected your bank account and will return you to prior screen.

5. Now that your bank account is linked, you can click "Set up bank account" and you will be able to use ACH on SpecCheck Lab Pay!

Set up ACH with Microdeposits

Microdeposits are an equally secure, but more time consuming way to link your bank account to SpecCheck. This method is required if your bank does not offer online banking or cannot be found in the dropdown list of available integrated financial institutions.

To start, follow steps 1 and 2 above.

Instead of searching for your bank in the dropdown though, scroll down a bit and click where it says "Enter bank details manually instead".

2. Enter the required bank account information for the account you need to link.

You will need your routing number and your account number.

Once completed, you will be returned to the prior screen. Please ensure you click "Start Setup" to continue to the process.

3. Once you have completed this step, you will need to wait for a "microdeposit" to be made in your bank account.

Now, there are two scenarios that can occur.

Scenario 1

Usually, you will receive one microdeposit (usually for $0.01) and a six digit code that starts with the letters "SM" that can be found in the transaction details of the deposit. You need to use this code to verify your bank account on SpecCheck on the by clicking into the Payment Methods tab found in Lab Pay and then clicking the "Verify Bank Information" button that now appears.

Scenario 2

Scenario 2 is less common, but you may receive two distinct microdeposits in your bank account. Please note that these amounts cannot be the same value! In the case of receiving two microdeposits, you will enter both distinct amounts in the pop-up that appears when you navigate to the Payment Methods tab of SpecCheck and click on "Verify Bank Information".

Determine which scenario you fall under, enter the required information, and click "Verify Bank Information" to verify you bank account!
