Lens Package

Lens Packages let you save commonly ordered combinations of lens options so you can apply them to new orders with a single click. Instead of re‑selecting the same specs over and over, you can build a package once and reuse it whenever you need.

What Is a Lens Package?

A Lens Package is a pre‑configured set of lens specifications that can be applied during order entry. Each package includes:

Package Details

  • Custom package name

  • Description (up to 250 characters)

Core Lens Specs

  • Vision Type (Single Vision or Multifocal)

  • Lens Style

  • Base Material

  • Material Color

Optional Add‑Ons

  • AR coatings

  • Scratch‑resistance

  • UV protection

  • Mirror color

Optional Customizations

  • Tints

  • Tint instructions (up to 250 characters)

  • Miscellaneous services

You can also include service codes in a package to ensure correct billing when special promotional or bundled pricing is available.

Creating a Lens Package

You can create Lens Packages in two ways:

From Settings

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Open Ordering Preferences.

  3. Scroll down to Lens Packages.

  4. Click Create a Package and configure your lens specs.

During Order Entry

  • While building an order, choose Create a Package.

  • Save the current lens configuration as a reusable package.

Packages are lab‑specific, meaning they only apply to the lab account where they were created.

Using Lens Packages During Order Entry

  • Lens Packages appear as selectable cards during order entry.

  • Only packages that match the order’s Vision Type (SV vs MF) will be shown.

  • Up to two packages will be displayed. Select See All to view additional packages.

After Applying a Package

  • All fields remain editable.

  • You can override or adjust any spec after applying a package.

If a package includes one or more lens options that are no longer available from the lab, the system will attempt to apply the package and stop at the point where an unavailable configuration is encountered.

In this case, the package will partially apply, and you’ll see a warning message letting you know that some configurations were no longer valid and could not be applied. This helps account for occasional lab catalog changes while still allowing you to continue your order.

Managing Lens Packages

All package management happens in Settings → Ordering Preferences.

From there, you can:

  • Edit package name or description.

  • Update any lens specification.

  • Delete packages you no longer need.

Changes take effect immediately for future orders!
