Key Features & Quick Overview
Disabled by Default: Labs must manually enable and configure this feature in settings.
Triggers: Orders are flagged automatically based on processing time (days) or specific lab statuses. Orders can also be manually flagged for review for any reason by a lab user.
Internal vs. External Visibility:
Yellow Flag: Internal to your lab only. The practice cannot see it.
Red Flag: Active Live Chat initiated with the practice regarding the order.
Please Note: Flagged Orders on Lab View are only available for orders submitted through SpecCheck, or any order for a practice on SpecCheck Pro.
1. Enabling & Configuring Flagged Orders
To turn on automated flagging and set your lab's criteria:
Navigate to Settings > Rx Orders > Flagged Orders.
Toggle on Automatically flag orders.
Select Flagged Order Statuses: Choose specific lab statuses (e.g., Finish Dept, Edit-Desk, Customer Service) that should automatically trigger a flag.
Set Order Threshold (Days): Enter the maximum number of days an order can remain in process before triggering a flag (e.g., setting this to
5will flag any job in process longer than 5 days).Click Save Changes.
2. Understanding Flag Types
Flag Type | Visibility | Description |
Yellow Flag | Lab Only | Appears automatically when an order exceeds your day threshold or reaches a flagged status. Can also be created manually as an internal note. ECPs cannot see yellow flags. |
Red Flag | Lab & ECP | Indicates that a Live Chat has been created for the flagged order and the ECP has been notified. |
3. Reviewing & Managing a Flagged Order
Clicking any Yellow Flag icon opens the Review & Manage Flag window:
Review Reason: View why the flag was created (e.g., "This order has been in process longer than the flagged order threshold of 5 days").
Add a Message: Type an initial message to the practice or record an internal lab note.
Choose an Action:
Create a Live Chat & Notify ECP: Sends your message directly to the practice, notifies them, and turns the flag Red.
Keep as Internal Lab Flag: Saves your message as an internal note and keeps the flag Yellow.
Remove Flag: Clears the flag from the order completely.
Click Confirm.
4. Resolving and Clearing Flags
Once an issue has been handled:
Closing the Live Chat conversation for the order will automatically remove the flag.
Alternatively, team members can manually open the flag modal at any time and select Remove Flag.
