Flagged Orders

Automatically track delayed or at-risk orders.

Updated this week

Flagged Orders are a powerful tool that automatically identifies orders that need attention based on specific criteria. Unlike Starred Orders, which you manually apply, orders are flagged by the system when an order is in progress at the lab for too long.

Order flags help ensure that no delayed, stuck, or problematic orders slip through the cracks, giving you a way to quickly address issues and keep jobs moving smoothly.

Given how impactful Flagged Orders can be to internal office workflows, all new ECPs will receive a one month free trial of Flagged Orders to ensure they understand what they are, how they work, and how useful they can be.

Why We Built Flagged Orders

Managing a large volume of orders can be challenging, especially when some orders take longer than expected. Flagged Orders provide a proactive way for you to monitor and take action on these orders, preventing delays and improving efficiency.

Instead of manually tracking aging or at-risk jobs, you can simply filter for Flagged Orders and take immediate action when needed.

How Flagged Orders Work

When an order meets the defined criteria (such as exceeding a set number of days in process), the system automatically flags it. Flagged Orders are designed to stand out on your dashboard, directing your attention to orders that may require follow up from you or the lab. You can easily find all Flagged Orders by selecting the "Flagged Orders filter" on the Orders Overview page.

To customize how long it takes before an order gets flagged, head to the Settings section of your dashboard, navigate to the "Flagged Orders Threshold Days" section, and specify how many days you want to pass before an order gets flagged. The minimum number of days you can select is 3, and the maximum is 30.

Sometimes, an order may be flagged, but it does not need attention. For example, if an order does not reach a terminal status of Shipped in a timely manner due to a backorder on a frame, you can manually "unflag" orders that do not require action simply by clicking on the red flag that appears next to the order on the Orders Overview page or the Order Details page for that order and taking action.

Additionally, once you have taken care of an order that has been flagged, we strongly suggest that you remove the flag from the order. This will ensure your "Flagged Orders" filter remains uncluttered, making it as useful as possible.

Disclaimer: You may also notice that occasionally orders get stuck in a certain status that is incorrect. This can happen for a variety of reasons, but it is usually due to how SpecCheck receives data from the lab. If an order gets stuck in an In Progress status, you will be able to manually move it to a terminal status such as Shipped or Canceled. Doing so will also remove any flags that were triggered by orders remaining in progress for too long.
