Delayed Orders

Eliminate stress by giving your office a built-in delay window to catch and fix errors, before the job is officially sent to the lab.

Updated over a week ago

How the Order Delay Window Works

The moment you hit "Submit" shouldn't be the moment you lose control. Our Delayed Orders feature gives your team a critical grace period to cancel or edit an order before it's officially sent to the lab, helping you stop costly errors before they ever happen.

Every user has an Order Delay Period set in their Ordering Preferences under Settings, which is set to 5 minutes by default. When an order is submitted, the system waits for this set time to elapse before transmitting the order to the lab.

  • Catch and Fix Errors: This window is your safety net for correcting typos, missed coatings, or incorrect measurements that you spot right after submission.

  • Order Status: During the delay period, the order status is clearly marked as pending transmission to indicate that changes are still possible.

Access and Flexibility

The Order Delay Period is set to 5 minutes by default for all users. While Free users are strictly limited to just this 5 minute delay (or can disable the feature entirely), SpecCheck Pro users unlock custom delay periods ranging from 10 minutes up to a full 24 hours!

The Pro Advantage

By upgrading, you unlock the ability to customize your delay window from 5 minutes all the way up to 24 hours. This Pro flexibility is crucial for:

  • Workflow Alignment: Set a delay that matches your office's pace, such as holding orders until a manager can review them the next morning.

  • Complex Jobs: Give your team maximum time to double-check specialty or high-cost jobs before locking them in.

  • Eliminating Panic: Reduce stress knowing you have ample time to catch every detail, no matter the time of day the order was placed.

Configuration and Troubleshooting

How to Configure Your Delay Period

  1. Go to Settings in your SpecCheck dashboard.

  2. Click Ordering Preferences.

  3. Select Order Delay Period to choose your preferred setting.

Note: If you need more than the 5-minute window, click "Unlock More" to upgrade to SpecCheck Pro and access custom delay times.
