How to Submit a Redo Order on SpecCheck

Place redos quickly and accurately, regardless of how the original order was submitted to the lab.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Submitting redo orders on SpecCheck is quick and simple—here’s how it works depending on where you placed the original order.

Scenario 1: Original Order Placed on SpecCheck

If the original order was placed through SpecCheck, submitting a redo is a breeze!

1. Find the Original Order:

Navigate to your SpecCheck dashboard and open the Order Details page of the order you’d like to redo.

2. Click “Redo Order”

Click the convenient “Redo Order” button located in the upper-right corner of the Order Details page.

3. Quickly Complete Your Redo:

• Select a Redo Type from the three available options.

• Note the reason for the redo.

• Make any necessary edits or corrections to the original order

4. Submit the Order

Once all edits have been made, double-check your order to ensure accuracy on the Order Details Confirmation page. When you're ready, click "Submit".

That’s it—your redo is submitted in seconds!

Submitting Redos for Orders NOT Placed on SpecCheck

If your original order wasn’t placed via SpecCheck, don’t worry—you can still quickly submit a redo.

1. Start a New Order:

Click the purple "Create Order" button on the left side of your SpecCheck dashboard. On the first page, under Order Options, mark the order as a redo. Choose the type of redo you are submitting, enter the original order invoice, and input a reason for your redo.

2. Enter All Required Details:

Because the original order was not submitted on SpecCheck, you’ll need to manually key in all the required information—patient details, Rx information, lens and frame info, and any necessary special instructions for the lab.

4. Submit the Order:

Double-check your order for accuracy and submit it to the lab. Your redo is on its way!

Redo Types

There are three different types of redos you can choose from on SpecCheck. Read below to understand the differences between each option.

  • Lab Redo: Choose this option if the reason for the redo is because of an error committed by the lab. Examples of this include: Receiving orders with Rx power that is off, an incorrect Seg Ht, visible lens defects, poor beveling, or incorrect lens options (received Transitions Gray when Transitions Brown was ordered).

  • Office Redo: Choose this option if the reason for the redo is because you are changing something about the original order that was submitted. Examples of this include: Rx changes, Seg Ht changes, PD changes, lens style changes, frame changes, etc.

  • Warranty Redo: Choose this option if the reason for the redo is because you are remaking the lenses under a manufacturer's (i.e. Crizal) warranty. Please note that you typically cannot edit any part of your original order for your redo to qualify as a Warranty Redo.

Once submitted, your lab partner will review your order and have the final say on what kind of redo your order is classified as. If you have any questions on why an order has been classified a certain way, you should reach out to the lab directly.
